A trip to Northern Europe

First of all

Denmark, located on the border with Germany, is a small country in the north. Denmark is a country with a long and interesting history, it is a kingdom that has been involved in many historical movements over the years. In addition, many kingdoms near Denmark have tried strategically to invade the country. The other neighbor is Sweden, which somehow resembles Denmark, for example with things like architecture and social behaviors. Both countries are very proud of their tradition and value it very much to keep in touch with the ancient traditions.

Family togetherness is one of the precious things that Danes and suedes appreciate. But they like to keep the year going for special events that happen during the year. It could be weekends or family vacations where they have time to spend some time together. Because Danes work hard, and in fact it is a big part of everyday life in Denmark, to maintain a through life.

Danish lifestyle and architecture

When I visited Denmark, I saw many interesting things and some old cities all over the country, with a touch of romance. One thing I noticed the most was the beautiful houses in the small villages around the island. It’s really easy to notice and anyone who has ever been to Denmark knows what I mean. I traveled from Germany, and rode my motorcycle to a small coastal town in the northeast of the small island called Fyn. When I came to Kerteminde I felt so elevated, because I should really feel the feeling of being surrounded by water. The beach went with a large coastal beach area from one site to another. It was summer vacation or rather a vacation for me, so I went swimming in the beautiful ocean every day.

My first time in bed and breakfast

He slept in Samlingsstuens bed and breakfast, which was located in the city center of the small town. He had his lodgings in the middle of a protected building, in a building called “Andreasens købmandsgaard.” Here they had beautiful rooms with beautiful flowers on the table next to the bed, and a nice clean room, which I valued very much.

My weather program told me to stay in Kerteminde only a few days, but I ended up staying here 5 days. I was a bit of a nature type, so I spent most of my time wondering around the beaches and large forests that were located around the area.

The Vikings of Denmark

I also went to the Viking museum, which was about 10 km from Samlingsstuen. He had a meeting of modern Vikings, going. I learned a lot about Danish history and culture that day and I also tasted the real Viking food.

Basically this place was a really good place to go with a family, there were a lot of things for the kids to do and learn. But even going to me for myself, I was really capable of joy.

In the end

I want to share a word I met several times during my stay in Denmark. Its called “higge” and is a unique description of for example a family conjunction or perhaps another way to say “chill out”. The word is very specific to Denmark, and describes it very well as Danish.

Greetings from me
